When he came to play the horn
The players laughed him all to scorn
Off the stage! But didn't quit
To the woodshed, all of it--
And play until the horn can sing
Man and horn as bird on wing--
Charlie Parker, called him 'bird'
Passed us early, in a word
His tomb mismarked? How absurd.
