Ev'ry journey begins the same
 With a single step
I've been more places than I can name
 But I've never met --
Any road that can lead me home
 Unless I turn around
So if you see me walk alone
 May be that road I've found...
Yes ev'ry journey begins the same
 Isn't that a fact?
No one should feel an ounce of shame
 To be the one to act.

Ev'ry journey ends the same
 (But never really ends?)
Not really that kind of game
 It extends & extends--
So I forget where I'm going to
 To where I am goin'--
More & more if I really knew
 Then I'd really be knowin'!
Yeah, ev'ry journey ends the same
 When you want it to;
Not with fortune and not with fame
 But with me & you.
