World’s a Rorschach test / does your fear cloud your vision / or just “peer pressure”?

 Lovecraft, America's prophetic eye
New England's sage, he could not lie--
Saw that what powerful men did fear
Their power could cause to then appear;
In dwelling too much on nightmarish things
Our powers-that-be have given wings
Responding to their whining complaint
Everyone by degrees with it did taint
Until, behold-- behold, and... faint!
