Few remember, or care to say
How the asteroid got that way;
Ceres the wandering star was found
Piazzi thought that it was bound
To be the fifth, so they wrote
When Gauss its orbit did fin'ly note;
Hershel tho', with Pallas then
Called "star-like" the both of them
But with Pluto, it's a planet again.
