so quiet it sits / but murmurs and pens scratching / distant thunder growls

The Estimable Nine, today
Again must give us much to say
Their number set in sixty-nine
Perhaps to amend that funny time
When the Taney court of yore
Oops-- started a civil war--
of Roberts then, a pattern shows
no party line this Council knows
save that which for Chaos, grows.
