Francia "El Supremo" was morally awful in many ways, but I can't help but admire him and the state he carved out.
Very interesting case. I like him because he's hard to easily dismiss, worth some thought.
I like the generally narrative and (might I say, it is not meant disparaging) prosaic style. It feels sober in the right way.
The epigrams are kind of informal, verging on being just a note in verse.
